As the President and Treasurer of the firm, he brings a wealth of leadership experience and legal expertise to Livingstone Law. With a background as a workers’ compensation examiner, he possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of workers’ compensation law, allowing him to provide strategic guidance and effective representation to clients.

Having joined the firm in 1981, he has been an integral part of shaping Livingstone Law’s reputation for excellence and integrity. In addition to his specialization in workers’ compensation defense, he has extensive experience in defending federal and state black lung claims, further broadening the firm’s range of legal services.

D. Scott Murphy

Prior to his legal career, Scott honed his expertise as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster in both Springfield, Illinois, and Lansing, Michigan. With a concentrated practice in workers’ compensation, he brings a unique perspective to Livingstone Law. Scott’s commitment to sharing his knowledge extends beyond legal practice; he regularly conducts seminars for clients and assists in training new adjusters in handling workers’ compensation cases.

Having initially been with Livingstone, Mueller, Bima & Murphy, P.C., Scott left the firm in 2016 to pursue other opportunities. During his time away, from 2016 through 2023, he continued his work in Chicago, focusing on Illinois workers’ compensation cases. In October of 2023, Scott was thrilled to rejoin Livingstone, Mueller, Bima & Murphy, P.C., reaffirming his dedication to serving clients in workers’ compensation matters.

Scott’s return to Livingstone Law signifies his unwavering commitment to providing exceptional representation in Illinois workers’ compensation cases. Clients can trust in his extensive experience and dedication to achieving favorable outcomes in every case.
